Leap Into 2006

As you welcome 2006 tonight at midnight, don't forget to add an extra second. On Dec. 31 of this year, an extra second will be added to the atomic clock as it leads into 2006. The extra second, or leap second, will be added to account for a slight change in the rotation of the Earth.
